I’ve been wanting to do this project for a long, long time. I know it’s very controversial, but I’m not here to be controversial at all. We live in a world where selfishness and “me first” attitude reigns. With this mindset, it’s easy to be deceived into believing a lie, especially when you’re told “everything will be fine”. The abortion industry has done more damage to our country as a whole than any other event or movement in it’s history (with over 56 million lives lost since 1973). The lies, the deceptive practices, and the spiritual, physical, and emotional damage that has been inflicted on so many lives because of the decision to abort an unwanted child growing in the womb is the greatest tragedy in American History. If you read our constitution, the order in which our rights are stated is as follows, “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness”. Without Life, the other two are not possible. My goal is not to make abortion illegal. My goal is to present stories of people’s lives affected by the choice they made, or others made for them in regards to abortion, and put a face on this issue. My hope is that through the images viewed and stories told, the CHOICE that people have been given through our legal system will no longer be an influence in one’s decision when faced with a pregnancy. My goal is to abolish abortion in the heart, one person at a time; that way it will not even be an issue, a choice, or a controversy any more. Abortion may stay legal, but become an unnecessary practice because people see the value of every human life, born or unborn. My wish is for people to read, view, and learn about what these people experienced, what they learned, and what they wish they could tell others about abortion. Putting a face on the choice that people think is their right, humanizes this legal practice, and it exposes the lies that so many have bought into by bringing it into the light of the truth. Abortion isn’t about my rights or your rights. It isn’t about a blob of tissue, or what it’s called. Abortion is about people making a decision about life that will affect not only them but many others for the rest of their lives, and what nobody tells you before or after it happens. This project puts a face on those that society says don’t exist, shouldn’t exist, or just doesn’t want to acknowledge. There is no greater travesty in America today. Choice is a Person.
